🎧A mother's journey from darkness back to the light with Patricia Meier
There is hope for joy to be felt again after the passing of a child.
I am thrilled to share my interview (above) with Patricia Meier, author of Forever Five: Adventures of the Ladybug Hunter.
Patricia is an author, acrylic artist, speaker, and sole proprietor of Sparks of Healing, where she assists clients and students as a Reiki Master/Teacher, Certified Hypnotherapist, and personal coach. For more information about Patricia and her work, visit www.sparksofhealing.ca. Patricia also publishes My Weird and Wonderful Life on Substack, which you can find here.
I was fortunate to connect with Patricia as a fellow writer on Substack. We occasionally commented on one another’s posts. At some point, we discovered that we had something in common— we both had published our first book in the prior few years. We decided to exchange books.
In this incredible story of loss and the journey from darkness back to light, Patricia chronicles the passing of her five-year-old daughter Alexandra to a brain tumor. Would I have picked this book up at my local Barnes & Noble? Possibly I would have because I like ladybugs. Once I perused the back cover, I would have gently placed the book back on the shelf, bringing my fingers to my lips to kiss and pressing them back on the book before I turned to make my way to the far side of the store.
I’ve got two grown children and hope to have grandchildren one day. The subject matter would have felt too excruciating.
But boy, oh boy, would I have missed out.
Patricia shares her heartbreaking story, but only insofar as she needs to in her quest to provide hope for others who might be grieving.
Patricia’s journey of healing and celebration, forgiveness, and hope is a must-read, not just for parents grieving the loss of a child. We all will deal with grief in our lifetimes, often more times than we’d like to count.
Grab a comfortable spot; if it’s a cold winter’s day, perhaps wrap yourself in a blanket and pour a glass of your favorite beverage, coffee, tea, water, or wine. Turn your phone on silent, and spend an hour with Patricia.
I promise you won’t be sorry. You can subscribe to Patricia below.
If you know of anyone who might benefit from this interview, please share this post or let them know about Patricia’s book.
Lovely interview.
