I always ask my yoga students to set an intention at the beginning of our practice. What do you want to draw to yourself? Is there something you need to let go of? Everyone at every moment has multiple issues they are dealing with. Two minutes a day of setting an intention can be life-changing if we believe in our strength and ability to succeed.
Intentions versus plans… an important distinction. Making an intention is a declaration to ourselves and the universe that we will get whatever the goal is accomplished.
We intend to move forward on cleaning that back room.
We intend to call that old friend whom we haven’t spoken to.
We intend to complete that newest work assignment.
We intend to spend a day with our loved ones.
We intend to master that downward dog.
We hope to… we want to… we wish to… not the same. Our words are important. Wishing you a week of meaningful intentions.
Oooooh, great tip - I needed this reminder, Sue! Thank you so much! 😘
I rely on intentions. I start each morning with a review of them. It as you say, a promise to myself and the universe that this is where I am heading.
