Monday morning cup of thoughts
an invite to experiment with the power of coincidence otherwise known as God winks
Part 2 of “Sunflowers” will post on Friday.
In the meantime, I wanted to invite my readers to participate with me in an exercise from the book “when God winks, HOW THE POWER OF COINCIDENCE GUIDES YOUR LIFE” by Squire Rushnell. It would be fun to have several of us experimenting with Squire’s challenge over the next few months.
Squire writes,
I keep a thin, narrow diary that slips nicely into an inside coat pocket or briefcase. It’s my diary of winks. Whenever a coincidence occurs, I jot it down.
More often than not, the coincidences I record in my diary are small, everyday winks. But while most are not earth-shattering, it has been quite eye-opening to flip back through the pages. After only a few weeks of keeping my diary, I was startled by the prolific nature of winks in my life that I used to shrug away. And I am impressed with the reaffirmation that winks from above occur at every turning point.
Here are the instructions.
Make an easy-to-use diary—perhaps a small pocketbook like mine, maybe a loose-leaf notebook, or even a piece of paper stuck to the refrigerator door.
The important thing is to keep the diary in sight, and not out of mind. The fleeting nature of God Winks is that they slip into and out of our lives in a blink—so you need to get into the habit of jotting them down immediately.
From Squire,
My promise to you
First, you are under the influence of a cosmic guidance system, and every day you receive little nudges to keep you on your chosen path.
Second, tracking the coincidences in your past will create an astonishingly lucid account of your life, while providing clarity to the grand possibilities on the road ahead.
Third, you can learn to harness the power of coincidences to enrich your future and to strengthen your inner convictions that the life path you’ve chosen is indeed the right path for you.
Lastly, you’ll see that coincidences happen for a reason, and that’s to let you know one thing: You are not alone.
If you are interested, let me know in the comments.
Oh wow. I need to do this. Glad to find a fellow nudge believer.
I have recent winks I am going to try to remember what they were and start off my little diary constructed by taking two pieces of notebook paper and stapling them together. That's the way some baby boomers roll. I am all in and shared as well. Thanks Sue.
