In yoga, hand positions are called Mudras. The position of our hands produces subtle differences in our body posture and breathing. Palms up signifies being open to listen and receive. And conversely, if we are experiencing significant stress, turning our palms down toward the earth can help ground us. I've been pondering the Mudras in connection with the God wink exercise and plan to experiment in the coming weeks with a few moments each morning, sitting quietly palms to the heavens as I start my day.
Following up on the God winks exercise… I was excited to hear how many of you were onboard to track your winks and happy to see some of you already on the chat, a more accessible place to connect with our experiences.
My friend asked me to clarify the difference between a coincidence and a God wink. And the answer is likely nothing. The exercise is designed to connect the two. How many times do you happen to think of a loved one, and they call within five minutes?
I recently considered scheduling a facial, and within a day or two, a new friend (who happens to be an esthetician) offered me a complimentary facial. I've been giggling as I track the winks because they happen almost as often as the internet "coincidentally" offering me something I've just been browsing about on the web. Neither the internet ads nor the God winks are coincidence.
Have fun tracking. And if you have some downtime between winks, go back in your history and record instances of a pattern that seemed to direct or protect you. Jot those down as well.
Whether we are struggling with depression, working to excel in a career, seeking connection with others, overcoming major changes or hardships in our lives… whatever our current goals are, the universe/God is listening and assisting. It's up to us to notice.
All I have seen teaches me to trust the creator for all I have not seen.
-Ralph Waldo Emerson
I’ve never heard it called God Winks. I love it!
It is my understanding that coincidences do not exist. A "God Wink" is merely the way God clarifies coincidence. It's all about God!
