In this few weeks posting on Substack, I will be sending my subscribed member content to all of my readers. Before I sign up for anything, I like to know what I’m paying for, so I think it’s only fair that I share with you a sample of my content. Here’s my Monday thoughts for this week.

Every now and then your best friends take you to a small town in the central valley of California where you find yourself standing in the middle of a cute little shop staring up at a wall hanging asking yourself, “Why didn’t anyone read this to me as a child?” Or maybe even more importantly, “Why isn’t this required reading for seniors?”

The Velveteen Rabbit by Margery Williams

“He said, ‘You become. It takes a long time. That’s why it doesn’t happen often to people who break easily, or have sharp edges, or who have to be carefully kept. Generally, by the time you are Real, most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out and you get loose in the joints and very shabby. But these things don’t matter at all, because once you are Real you can’t be ugly except to people who don’t understand.’”

Thank you for reading Tales of a Wayward Yogini. This post is public so feel free to share it.
