I often come across treasures I want to share with my readers. If I offer someone else’s work along with my own, I typically fear that I’m filling your inboxes with too much. I know when my inbox fills up, if I’m busy I start deleting to clear my plate.
So, I’ve decided that every once in a while, I’ll dedicate a week to sharing the work of others as opposed to my writing.
Welcome to my first Show and Tell!
One of the sweetest exercises in elementary school is sharing time. In my day, we called it show and tell. The name is unimportant. The exercise is priceless. Children are asked to share something they are excited about with the class.
What fun as an adult to have the ability to resurrect this childhood treasure.
I’ve got two posts from fellow Substackers I’m so grateful to have come across in the last few weeks. They each, in their own way, lowered my heart rate and slowed my breathing.
Take a listen to
read “A Poem for One Who is Exhausted.” Two minutes and 33 seconds will leave you feeling understood, calmed, and wanting more, even if you aren’t necessarily feeling exhausted.Friday, I have another gem I can’t wait to share; I’d describe it as waking up from a great dream.
Really appreciate you sharing my poetry reading to your lovely community. May there be more to share and enjoy together , thank you
Sue, what a great idea your contemporary show and tell. So thoughtful and kind of you. Susan's reciting was glorious. So happy you shared it.
