My post for this morning needs to be completed, which won’t happen until next week. We had a busier week than usual. On Tuesday, we celebrated Rick’s 70th birthday. We used to play a card game (Tonelli Rummy) with Rick’s mom Pat in the last few years of her life. Everyone once in a while, one of us would get a bad hand and end up with many points. Pat was fond of saying “yipee doodle” whenever we had one of these hands.
Remembering Pat’s cute phrase, I’d say this was a “yipee doodle” birthday; the years are adding up. As we move through our senior years, we are reminded often to savor our days, enjoy our home and loved ones, and be mindful of the blessing of each healthy day.
I had a meeting last night I needed to attend at 6:30. At 4:30, when I should have been finishing my post for this week, I sat on the couch and fell fast asleep. I rarely take naps. But it felt so good, perhaps a habit I will adopt as a senior.
I’ll be back on Monday morning. Enjoy the weekend!
Cat logic says naps are purrrrrfect. No I won’t apologize for that. Lol.
Thanks for sharing that story. It is lovely when someone leaves a legacy that brings a smile.
Love Yippie Doodle. That would be funny if you put it on social media and it went viral. It’s a good phrase for all ages. 😉
