I always relate to your posts. This post is calming and comforting. Thank you for the reminder that hobbies can be comforting and therapeutic. I enjoy how you weave your what you are working on into your posts.
I laughed at 'cow tipping'. Since I am from Oklahoma and my dad raised cattle, I know how hardy cows are.
Thank you for bringing us together. We are resilient and together we will make it through these challenging times.
I love everything about this post, Sue. Like your quilting, you creatively stitch the parts and pieces of daily life together: the sorrow, the joy, the possibilities, the vulnerabilities, and the light. Beautiful.
Thank you for the mention! I'm grateful to be in good company.
Yes, I've kept my eye on you from afar and I'm always happy to see a new post come out from you, or even a repost of an older writing. Continue to take good care, Rebecca! Cheers!
Wonderful words, Sue. As I write this, I am at a quilt retreat in Susanville with 3 other women. Great time to “get out of our heads and into our hands.” The joy of being together with other women and creating is so good for our souls. I’m forever grateful.
Oh Marti, that sounds delightful and much needed in these times. I'm happy to hear you are a quilter. Please head over to my chat and upload some photos of your quilting weekend and what you are working on. And Susanville, I love that area. We live in the foothills, and my family vacationed every year in Graeagle. Such beautiful country. Enjoy, my friend. 💕 Chat is here https://substack.com/chat/950444
Yessss. To all of it. And Joann’s!! Sigh, if only they had stuck to what they did well and not tried to compete by adding so many other departments. I don’t think I’ve ever bough5 fabric anywhere but Joann’s, and thread to for that matter. I have no idea where else to go!
I know, Karen. I keep lamenting about the fact that buying fabric is such a textile experience. One must feel the material to know if it's right for the project. For instance, the baby quilt I'm making for my granddaughter needed fabric that was soft to the touch. I chose lovely flannels, but not all flannels are created equal. I can't imagine trying to buy those fabrics online. I bought all of them at JoAnn's where I could touch each one. Thank goodness I didn't procrastinate as I would have been out of luck. We must trust that smaller grass root businesses will populate and maybe we'll one day find ourselves thinking how happy we are that JoAnn's departure opened an avenue for the smaller business people. I can only hope. But JoAnn's will be missed!!!
These are difficult times we are living in currently. When I feel myself getting overwhelmed I just try to turn it over to God/Universe. I was talking to my Parish Priest about the mess in this country and he said “ it’s important to remember these situations have been going on since the beginning of time and somehow we all survive”.
I can’t wait to see the finished quilt for granddaughter. The little bear quilt is adorable.
I love what your priest said. His words are absolutely true, and it's good to be reminded. I will definitely share the finished quilt for my granddaughter in a few months. Amy's baby shower is in May. 💕
I'm impressed with your quilting skills. Babies always bring so much joy, and I'm happy your little one will add beauty and distraction from what's happening in our country. I miss Obama, too.
Thank you Ilona. I agree about the distraction. And oh, Obama's voice, what a pleasure to listen to him, compared to what we are subjected to today. I really did think it was kind of humorous that I was sitting there crying. Have a blessed weekend, Ilona. 💕
Thanks, it's turning out great. I added another blue and white polka dot strip and now it's time to put it all together. Woohoo! I just had a reader comment on the yogini mosaic over my sewing machine in the photo. She loved it! 💕
That is a mosaic that my friend Lalo Sanchez made for me when I published my book. Check out this post of mine which features Lalo and his newest mosaic which is hanging on our outside wall by my potting bench. https://waywardyogini.substack.com/p/artists
Thank you. I added a dark blue and white polka dot border yesterday. I'll put it together now and then add a lighter blue finishing border. I think you were the one that informed me that JoAnn's was closing.

Thank you, Trula, for your kind remarks. I too believe together we will make it through these times! ❤️

Thank you, Paulette, for your kind words. They mean a great deal to me. 💕
Oh Sue, a delightful post. Thank you for such a soothing read.
(I'm baffled by the cow tipping! Absolutely bonkers. People can be strange.)
Strange and mean, yes. So nice to hear from you, Rebecca. Thanks for reading and your comments!!! 💕
Lovely to be here, Sue! I’ve been missing in action for a while - but I’m very much still here, and reading when I can. Hugs! xxx

Love the bear quilt, great salvage job😁

Sue, I LOVE that you have your yogi hanging on the wall behind your sewing machine. Is that a mosaic or just a print of a mosaic? It's lovely!

How awesome! I’m going to read now.
Pretty little quilt!
