I am curious as to how long it takes people to feel free as a bird after retirement? I left the corporate world to pursue my passion work two years ago and I find myself unable to slow down; feeling like I should have something to show for my time...
I'm planning a trip to England to see Stonehenge and other neolithic monuments.Thinking about that era before people had jobs and televisions and had time to contemplate the nature of the world, I wonder if they ever thought about "time management?" Were they "free as birds?"
Thank you for reminding me about this song, Sue. It's a special one for me. I remember hearing it when I was very little and being quite moved by it - When we first got a CD player my Dad bought 'The Beatles Anthology' and this was on it. Most of the other music I heard at home was folk music. This was something different and I liked it. The memory of it came back to me a year or two ago and I found it on Spotify. And listening to it again from a different perspective (as an adult) it really spoke to me in addition to a feeling of nostalgia. 'Freedom' is a value of mine so that's probably a big reason why. I didn't know that story about the song's creation, so thanks for sharing this.
John was my favorite. He was a musical genius. Thank you for this entry. It conjures up memories of time mgmt on the job. I had not thought of it applying to home life. I need to put a scheduler online to do better at attacking my “Just Do It” list. I love your thought provoking words. ❤️🥰

I look forward to freedom of the mind.
I can relate. 💜

I'm glad you enjoyed it. Music is such a catalyst for remembering people and places. 💜
Amen. It's a daily deal. Or rather, a one day at a time deal! Incidentally, the bird in the top photo is a Kestrel, America's smallest falcon.
Oh, thanks for putting a name to the bird. I thought it was a gorgeous photo! 💜
Good one Sue! It is nice to be at a place in our lives to feel free as a bird...at least some of the time!!
Yes, I've only got it down some of the time, lol! 💜
