I'm really enjoying this series, Sue - I'd been looking forward to this latest chapter! A great read, as always. 😊 And gosh - two years on Substack - that's brilliant! Happy anniversary!

Such a lovely story. You can feel Ruth Ann’s spirit in your writing. Can’t wait for the next part of this adventure.

Ruth Ann not only rocks in a chair but her hair rocks too. She proves that blue hair is ageless.

Doesn't she? I love this photo of her!

No, I didn't miss Part 3, but I forgot the blue hair. I've found, publishing my essays, that I have to repeat certain important things each time when they are germane to the piece NOW! This is really a portrait of RuthAnn, who is too wise to get thrown by a putdown! And wise enough to accept that in this case, it isn't personal!

I love this. It's sooo good. I would have like just a mention of the blue hair. It would explain a lot about RuthAnn. But fabulous!

Thank you, Sallie. That means so much coming from you. You might have missed Part 3 here https://waywardyogini.substack.com/p/embracing-family-along-with-a-train where I do mention the blue hair! :) I agree with you, it explains a great deal about this spunky wonderful woman. You would love her.

Hard to believe that amount of time has passed! I think August will be two for me also.

Sounds like the rekindling of your almost lost relative, is making for some good times and stories.

All my Dad’s side is gone now, except for the third cousins. I was grateful to get to know the three first cousins women to my dad. One of them shared a birthdate with me of Oct 1st . Although there was 20 years between us, she called me her “Twinnie”, She passed at 90, and we had her celebration of life last fall. She was a real spitfire and rode her own Harley Davison way back when.

Our father’s may be the sperm donors, but it’s the ancestral women that give us life—for they always know who their children are. 🤭
