More and more now our thoughts become things rapidly. I remind clients, friends, family, and myself to be mindful of the words we choose, especially when describing ourselves; not to say I HAVE this or that diagnosis or malady but to say I AM EXPERIENCING. The difference is acceptance, I HAVE says I own this thing. I am experiencing, means I could use my free will to change my experience at any time now or in the future. <3 Thoughts most definitely do become things.

I love that tweak of the words, making such a difference. 💜

Sue, so timely for me. This is the exact same thought I had last night. As I have gotten older, many old memories keep popping into my head with little warning, and what's disappointing is that they have tended to lead to negative thinking. Last night I stopped and thought to myself, Enough! From now on, when these old memories come into my head, I'm gonna think about the positive things related to these memories. There is always something positive in every bad memory, and I'm going to start working on finding them.

Absolutely! So much of how we think has been taught to us, but we have the power to change that. An exercise like what you are trying is much like training our body with exercise. At first it's a little difficult because we haven't used the muscles. But with time, it becomes easy. I'm glad this post resonated with you. I also read what you sent me. I liked it! I think I responded by email but in case I didn't, thanks for sending it along!

I recently read this and it struck a nerve with me. Our inner voices are powerful.

Bruce Lee said

"Don't speak negatively about yourself, even as a joke. Your body doesn't know the difference. Words are energy and they cast spells, that's why it's called spelling. Change the way you speak about yourself, and you can change your life."

Yes, I've tried to be cognizant of how I speak to myself for years. In the yoga teacher training class, the teachers would point out to the students how many times we used the words "I'm sorry." It was an eye-opening exercise. 💜

Wow! I recently read that the 33 vertebra in the human spine each responds to tones, chords if you will. The spinal cord (chord?) is always listening and responding too, impacting our connection with earth and our ability to manifest here.

Spelling makes perfect sense to me. We have been taught to obey when in fact we are powerful creative beings.

That's very interesting. And doesn't surprise me.

Our thoughts have power. We need to notice the stories we have in our heads. It's a good reminder when we start having doubts or feelings of "less than". Thank you for the reminders and the inspiration.

I have been following Mike Dooley for many years since his “Notes From The Universe”. I even have the “Thoughts Become Things... and... Choose The Good Ones” on a couple of pillowcases I bought from his website a few years back. The pillows are always displayed prominent on my bed after I make it up in the morning.

I just wish I could have chosen my words more carefully when I turned 71, and had the thought, “Whatch this be the year I break a hip.” Less than two months later I did. However, I have had premonitions and dreams, like this throughout my life.

Driving around a curve on a rainy late afternoon I heard, “You’re heading into an accident.” I noticed my then 16 yo son wasn’t wearing his seatbelt. I told him to put it on. Less than a minute later, yep, it happened. My son and I were fine, he more than I, but it saved his life. Actually, just that morning I picked up my car from having brake work done on it and as I was walking to the car, I threw the keys up into the air, and when I caught them, I heard in my head, “watch this be the day I get into an accident. “ So that was premonition #2 that day. The first one was a nagging feeling I should not bring my son to counseling that day. Wish I could say I’ve learned to heed all my premonitions.

In 2017, I dreamed I was in a car accident. A couple months later. Geez!!

But through each “adventure”, I have grown. Oh, and I like that “I am experiencing...”. And when I am experiencing the pains I still have from when I broke my hip last year, I do acknowledge, and continue on with my day. Sometime I’ll rub some Arnicare cream on it, or I’ll take an occasional tylenol. Yes, we always have choices--even if they are after the fact.

I love that you have the pillows reminding you! That's awesome. Our minds have amazing power and we learn over time to trust in our premonitions. Perhaps the next big one you have you will heed, or maybe you already have avoided a mishap and will never know because it didn't happen! Glad to hear you are moving along on the healing journey! 💜
