Glad you got to spend time with your daughter. I miss my mom so much everyday and I wish I could have one more lunch with my mother. Anything. Even an argument would do. Even when my neighbor leaves with her mother for a lunch out (I see her moms car at the neighbors house once a month)-- I feel a pang of jealousy that I can't help. I'm glad you cherish being with your daughter. We all deserve a loving mother like you. ❤️💗❤️

Laura, your words are such a great reminder to others. "Even an argument would do," is precious. I love that. I'm not saying this to get readers, but if you shared my post to notes and included your comment, I believe a lot of people would benefit from your words. Just a thought. Thanks as always for your support and comments. I appreciate you! 💜

Hi Sue - thanks for sharing your thoughts on how hard it is to be at a geographical distance from the ones we love. I’m Brooke’s mom and I know these feelings well.

Ironically years ago I wrote in one of my cookbooks about a bird that lays its eggs on a narrow ledge on the side of a steep cliff. The “parent birds” take turns overseeing the safety of the egg - they are so diligent in their care they know if the egg has been moved a fraction of an inch. What we don’t know as young parents is this: our hearts don’t really learn how to stop caring about how our children move throughout the world.

We can be grateful when they spread their wings and soar to great heights, especially if it brings them closer to their potential and joy. But we will always be stirred by their movements, and long for those days when they huddled close to hearts.

Continued blessings on you and your writing journey♥️
