Perfectly said. Recently I was talking about my first husband that passed away over 15 years ago. As I was describing the niche that his ashes were placed in, I got the biggest lump in my throat, tears stared to well up in my eyes, and I couldn't talk for a moment. Our emotions remain for the long haul, but they change and soften, become easier to transition through. I remember my father talking about his younger brother who had died as an infant when my father was under ten. My father was in his seventies at the time. He had to take a pause to finish his story. I took comfort from his tears, because in essence they revealed the deep love he felt for his young sibling. 💜
