A delightful post, Sue! Whenever I've woken in the night, or woken early, I've been astonished at all the things that are happening around me, and the thoughts that go through my head. I thoroughly enjoyed your exploration of sounds in the night!
And thank you for linking to me - that's so kind! And LOL re coffee, not tea - you're forgiven! 🤣
I'd jump out of my skin if I discovered the TV on in the middle of the night! I have a weird sense of hearing, though - if a TV is on but on 'mute', I can hear the high-pitched whine from its electronics, ditto anything like camera/flash batteries my photographer husband has put on charge overnight. Sometimes I wake up in the night and have to walk around the house turning off their plug sockets! 🤣
Thank you Rebecca! And also for the pardon with regard to continuing to drink coffee 🤫 We haven't had any nighttime antics since, thank goodness. And congrats on the mention in Substack Reads!!! Very nice choice on Substack's part! 💜
But, Rebecca, this admission about drinking coffee changes the game. And how would I know if Terry Freedman might also be stealing a sip every now and then of that amazing java? 🤣
Madam, I do not respond to such scurrilous accusations as a rule. Nevertheless, as you and Rebecca have formed a girl gang against me, I have to defend myself. Yes, I do drink coffee sometimes. But I need tea several times a day or I just grind to a halt.
The thought I had when reading about the TV was that sometimes our loved one who have passed on send us messages through electronics. I would love to know what show was on when Rick turned it off. I wake up every morning between 4:30 and 5:00. I love that time of morning when most people are still sleeping and the world seems quiet as new day begins to dawn. Often the only sounds are the birds beginnings to sing their morning songs. I hope you kitty is feeling better. Enjoy your time with Jordan. ❤️
Yes, if it happens again I will need to pay closer attention. Kitty is good, and I'm looking forward to picking Jordan up at the airport this evening! 💜
I like the chill and delight in your voice. The comfort and clarity of the clear benefit of being connected to Substack and all the creators with voices far and wide who share a grand and great life beyond the daily news which isn't new. All the good things, the human lives, the emotional challenges, the ways of reframing experiences to learn lessons instead of be aggravated by difficulties. So much gold to sift out of the dirt of our lives.
I love getting your posts any day of the week. Writing this on Monday to post on Thursday instead of Friday to put your cyber world to bed for a bit for your son is awesome. I feel I have gained a bonus day. Cat people, like me, understand the TV being turned on. Mine usually lands on the volume control the one night I leave the TV pm falling asleep to a Golden Girls marathon. It's the one where the girls are competing on Jeopardy, my number one go-to show. I vaguely remember there being some kind of automatic shut off the TV when the TV knows I am sleeping. Once awake, returning to my dream, you know the one where I get a bad stomach ache from eating too much cheesecake, is out of the question. Methinks it will be a good writing day. I would edit my note but then you would not know what goes through the mind of one of your constant readers on a typical Thursday morning. Have a special memorable visit with your son. I would write about the bond between mothers and sons, yet think I have put enough words together in this rambling note to reward myself with a brunch, albeit without cheesecake at 10 AM on a Thursday morning. Then again, it is afternoon somewhere in the world. The $9 slice of cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory beckons. Gotta go. Fabulous post and yippee to explore new to me Substacks. 🌷🌷🌷(Sue) 🌷🌷🌷

I drink coffee too - but only sometimes - decaf, though, otherwise I get quite unnecessary! 🤣
And thank you so much - I'm beyond thrilled! 🥳
As well you should be!!!! 🥰
"Quite unnecessary," I love that.

Ooooh, do you think he DOES? 🤔 One of us had better ask him!
Terry has joined the conversation but I think it's on a different thread. You might have to go to the comments section to find it.
I sent a separate comment. Hopefully he will join us here to confirm or deny the allegation. 🤣
🤣
I was wondering if I have the ability to tag him in a comment. Let's try it. @terryfreedman I'm thinking it doesn't work in comments.

Bean is adorable. :).
She sure is!!! 💜

A cat turned on your TV? I think I'll stick with ghosts, thanks!
haha, who knows?!? I did think the cat scenario was a stretch, but...
Well , f I can butt dial my phone, a cat can butt the on-button, I guess.
laughing outloud!!
Big hugs to you and Jordan♥️ Is Brook coming too?
Yes! Brooke will follow a week later, and actually they will both be here when you guys are up! 💜

Perfectly said, Lisa! I couldn't agree more. 💜

Thank you Vicki!!! Glad you enjoyed the post, and hope you also found the cheesecake! 💜
Coffee? 😡 Thanks for the shout -out Sue. Yes, one of our cats keeps being sick (is being investigated). Bean is gorgeous 😍
I just tried to tag you in the comments between Rebecca and I. I'm not sure if that feature works in comments. But check out our exchange above.
I will, Sue, thanks. But you should be able to type @terry freedman @rebecca holden which doesn't work, not sure why.
Not sure either. Maybe just not available on comments yet.
Or it could be that Becks and I have been blacklisted.
You are quite welcome. Thanks for starting my week off on a nice note.
Bean says thanks. Her sister "Sis" (such a creative name) looks exactly like her, as do their two brothers who we do not own.
