Reading this particular paragraph made me smile:

'In a world that requires constant deflecting of all the negativity surrounding us, listening to my kids chuckle at the antics of a pen of goats felt pretty damn good, along with the sensation of goat lips nibbling softly at the food in the palm of my hand.'

Every moment spent with our family is a gift. It's also a gift to watch our children as they go down their own paths.

Such a bustling month you’ve had, lots of visitors, lots of laughs. Try to enjoy the stillness of your home as you reflect upon all of these new memories. Your recharged heart will get you through to your next encounter with your kiddos♥️

Good byes are always hard especially when it is a lived one. It sounds like you had such a wonderful visit with Jordan and Brooke. What a gift that they were here for a month. I can’t wait to hear about Amy’s shower. Send love and hugs 🤗

Thank you dear friend. Yes, definitely a month full of gifts. I can't wait to write about Amy's shower and our visit. Was just too much for one post, so I decided to divide it. Love and hugs coming right back to you! 💜

When we would visit, my dad always said, "Vic, someday this day today will be part of your good old days. Don't screw it up!" That was a nice long visit. Thanks for the photo. Good to put names and faces together. I think I mentioned once before Rick is a keeper! Yay for his nurturing.

Awwww! So glad to read this post, Sue, but I'm sad for you being sad. Goodbyes are so hard!

As for the kids - of the goat variety, I mean - how gorgeous! I loved keeping goats when I was little - those babies could BOUNCE! They were such fun to play with.

Awww, thanks Rebecca! Even though the sorrow doesn't feel too great, in the big picture I truly consider the sadness a blessing, and the tears just a byproduct of that blessing. I'm so grateful for my loved ones and any time we can enjoy together! And I've never been good at "goodbyes."

And yes, the bouncing, oh my goodness! Love goats! 💜

Awwwwe baby goats!! So fun!

I know the semi-mourning process of having had those you love dearly leave after spending more than a few days with you. My mom used to come and "visit" for two to three months at a time. After she left I was so down and teary for quite a few days after until I got back into my regular routines and caring for my 3 young kids again by myself.

So happy for you that you got to spend such quality time with them. I miss my now grown children in that respect.
