I love the part about it not being a stretch to think you’ve known each other for long when, after all, you too, were a mother. It captures such a profound truth about shared experience and beautiful connections.
Right, Holly? I've said for years, we are all much more alike than we understand. We might crusade in different costumes, speak in different tongues, but at the end of the day, we are all divinely connected if we allow for that truth. Thank you so much for reading my post, and for your comments!
Wow! is all i can say through the tears flowing down my cheeks after reading this beautiful story! I can feel all the “thoughts and prayers”, all the days and all the ways of working things through that went into the making of this story. You brought us right into those moments, with the people and feelings that you talk about which is the greatest gift of the storyteller you are...
Like you, I am one who believes in the cleansing, healing power of letting the feelings come up and the tears flow. I come from a long line of very tough men who seem imperturbable, aloof from tears which are seen as a sign of weakness...so it was quite a breakthrough and breakaway for me to learn to open my heart to being deeply touched and have the tremendous release of cascading tears...
Sue, you had me when you were looking for your tissues. I too only keep napkins or paper towels in my coat pockets.
When you described your town I thought you were talking about my little town in one of the Berwicks of southern Maine, but then you mentioned, “Cool”--twice. What a neat name for a town!
It is truly amazing how our thoughts have wings and just because we can’t see, smell, taste, or touch them, doesn’t mean they don’t exist or instantaneously hit their intended target. Like whenever I pass a bad car accident that rescue crews are working, I always well up--can’t help it, it’s what I do--and I give a reiki symbol or two, as I’m slowly passing by, along with healing thoughts and intentions for the people who were in the accident.
Thank you so much, Gail. Yes, Cool is a great name for our little town. I do the same, always sending my intentions along and believing in their power. 💜
I have been wanting to write about prayer and religion and my complicated relationship with it and you inspired me to get writing on it. Can I use some of your words and cite you? I’d love to recommend your post/substack :)
Stephanie, of course you can cite my words, I'd be honored. And I would appreciate any recommendations of my Substack! I have not visited your site yet. I will make it a point! Thanks, Stephanie. 💜
Thank you for this beautiful story. I too believe in “Thoughts and Prayers” when they are truly heart felt. It is such a positive act to actually pray for others as well as send positive thoughts.

Thoughts and prayers are truly meaningful♥️
I love this so much.
Thank you, Karen. 💜
Absolutely moving, Sue. Thoughts and prayers. Sometimes they are just words, but so often they are so much more.
Thank you, Holly. 💜

Thank you dear one for sharing this with us!
Thank you, Chinmayan, for your kind words! I believe each generation becomes wiser about the value of tears, thank goodness! 💜
Oh man, I really had to get the tissues out for this one Sue! You are such a good person, all that meet you do love you! Miss you,
Lynette

You are a true blessing! I am a firm believer in the power of prayer and our thoughts. Thank you for sharing this story.
Aww, thank you Trula, as are you! 💜
Thank you. Powerful story. We never know who is supporting us even when we don't know it ... nor how our words will impact others we may never meet.
I agree, Joyce. An especially important thought for writers to consider :) 💜

I couldn't agree more, my friend. 💜
