I agree with everything you said. We would be no where without mentors and helpers both physically and spiritually. I love the saying “When the student is ready the teacher appears”. So proud of you my dear friend.
Yes! Loved this comment. Where would we be without our guides? We learn from each other! That’s how we climb mountains together.
Sue, question! I always wondered this. Did Substack reach out to you with the featured publication? Did someone nominate you? When you found out, was that such a lovely surprise?
Oh my gosh, I totally misread that! Well, I wasn't surprised to think you had one! Ah, I never saw this before. Interesting and makes sense. Have the community recommend you!
Thank you, Stephanie, for your kind remark about my Substack. I need to reread this myself as it's been a while since I read it. It seems to me that there are some lovely principles at work here on this platform... be the change/supporter/mentor you want or need, be that for someone else. I believe if we all support and encourage one another instead of clawing for our own success, we might find our way to our goals. 💜
yikes, how did i miss this!!!! I'm honored to be one of the presumably 'good' sherpas, and considered a peer with the extraordinary Joyce and Sarah. But actually i cajole, inspire, recommend, distill, clarify, listen, promote, compliment for strictly selfish reasons, contribution to our circle of friends, colleagues, neighbors, lengthens your lifetime (see profG's essay below), and I recommend we all selfishly expand the quality and quantity of our personal relationships and life. Sue I'm so proud of the progress you've made on your substack, it's unreal how professional and inviting it has become, I'm just blown away here. From my vantage, you are simply kicking butt. Whatever you and Sarah and Joyce are up to, what ever the mystical incantations that are being deployed, the trend line is way up and to the right. Bellisimo! https://www.profgalloway.com/mammal-ai/
Sue, I am so honored to be included in your list of guides. It was such great good fortune to meet you early on our journey ... it has been fun and enlightening to share our challenges and learnings. Hope we get to do this for a long time and that one day we will both wear that Substack button of approval. ;-)
Thank you, Joyce! I agree that it has been my great fortune to connect with you and I look forward to the journey ahead! I'll say to you what my friend replied to me, "in my book, you've already got the gold star!" Cheers my friend! 💜
Jen, I wasn't featured. I think my photo of the badge must have been confusing to some. I was describing my goal to become a featured publication and showed the badge for my readers who don't know what that even is. But thank you so much for your kind words! I hope you can send them again down the line :)
I couldn’t agree with you more! Mentors, guides, teachers. Sometime the cool thing about them is they don’t even realize you see them in that way. There’s the formal and informal mentor/guide.
Sometimes I find myself observing someone I admire or look up to from afar. And watching their example helps. And then other times, it’s a treasured mentor who you know will be at the other end of a phone to cheer you on.
I’m not as brave as you to state any goals. I’m having to unlearn my goal setting at the moment. And it is freaking hard!!!! I love me some good goals.
Sending positive thoughts for you on that journey of unlearning your goal setting. I'm an easy task master for the most part, forgiving of my unrealized goals. Not to say I am not disappointed if I don't reach a goal, but I'm not overly critical of myself.
I love your comments about mentors. Your descriptions are so accurate. I absolutely love my mentors. 💜
Congrats! Well done and well deserved. I was lucky to have a well known screenwriter as a mentor early in that career and a well known actress/writer when I wrote and performed my one woman show. Mentors truly leave a deep impression. I agree. @sarahfay is the latest mentor helping hundreds of us.
Thank you, CK. @Sarahfay is wonderful, such fun to learn more about the platform. Not sure if the @ works in comments, ha! It has been fun to watch a number of writers, you included, grow and improve your sites!💜

Stephanie, I WISH! What I wrote in my post is that it's my dream to be a featured publication. I hope with hard work and dedication, maybe you can ask me those questions down the line. lol, but in the meantime, you can get the answers to your questions here. https://support.substack.com/hc/en-us/articles/360037455112-How-do-I-get-featured-on-Substack#:~:text=We%20welcome%20writers%20and%20readers,at%20on.substack.com.

I love that quote. Thank you, Lynn. 💜
This is fabulous, Sue! You get a gold circle in my book!
Thank you, Sallie. I value your opinion greatly! 💜

Maybe we should make our own badge. Budding Stars ... Plays nice with others ... Resilience when facing the void ... or ... ???
haha! Love it! 💜
Congratulations on the feature! Well deserved!

Oops! I was reading while drinking my first cup of coffee so I was not completely awake. LOL Good goal to have!
Haha, thanks! You weren't the only person. It's okay, I got to practice enjoying the well wishes nonetheless. 💜
I am reminded that no man is an island.

What a great goal! You’re an inspiration!
Awww, thank you, Heather. 💜
I absolutely agree with you. I am so grateful for the mentors and teachers in my life. This is well written and touches my heart.
Thank you, Trula! I am grateful for you, my yoga mentor! 💜
I am very grateful for all your help! You are so much fun!
