Oh my gosh, that's horrible! I would feel the same way. As a matter of fact, when I was finishing my book ms for Lessons of a Wayward Yogini, my old computer was getting very tired. I kept sweet talking it to just let me finish up. And no lie, that computer died as soon as I was done. I was so grateful it waited. Happy to hear you will be able to save most of your work. Oh, and I will be rewriting my About page, having learned some new tips from Substack. I'm going to be including a few comments from readers, and I'd love to include yours if you are okay with that. It will be advantageous for you as it will show your link on my About page. Let me know. If you'd like to chat off line, feel free to email me at info@sueferrera.com.

Since glimpsing your response, I have been looking forward to the moments when I am free of the demands of the day to read it and reply. It is so good for me to have this communication between us, dear kindred spirit...of course, I would love to have my comments or best parts of them on your about page! Thank you for sharing your off line chat address...mine is innerresourceinstitute@gmail.com

working to save my writing journals is quite a process and its becoming the consuming focus of my days, a suddenly discovered high priority...its also opening windows to deeper understanding of myself and my work....I am moved to tears by the quality of most of it, and humbled as well...the journals are from the 1980’s...and I am realizing how vital it is to NOW publish and share this work with the world which is now in so much need of voices of calm, clear, loving and divinely inspired perspective...I have always known that “my” writing talent was given to me so that I can help and make a difference in the lives of people around the world, that this gift comes with a responsibility to care for whatever is created and get it out to the world...that this whole episode of discovering so much damage is a wake up call which I hear and take to heart. What a privilege it is to be a writer in these times of turbulence and travail...

Darn!

When I saw your post appear, I felt a surge of excitement and anticipation of settling in with you for another journey of words through your thoughts and experiences...as you are one of my favs....

And then.....

It was like a teaser of possibilities, a few flakes of shaved chocolate when I was wanting to taste the full richness of a whole bar.

I understand and empathize....

Short and sweet is ok...

And I admit, i really like it when your postings are longer and fuller and take more than 15 seconds to read...

It was like going to the field for a long anticipated baseball game to have it called just as we reached the bleachers.

Still, you are a winner and i will keep returning to read whatever you write!

Well, way to start my morning off on a great note! Thank you for your kind words. 💟 To be clear, Mondays and Wednesdays are typically shorter, a thought to begin the week, Wednesday I like to concentrate on gratitude, share something I'm feeling particularly thankful for and ask others to share their thoughts, and Friday is my main post where you can count on the whole bar and the nine innings! :).

I posted this earlier but I don't believe it linked to your comment. I'm resending it. Still learning.

Thank you for the sweet response…

most welcome on these very challenging days!

I have been writing prolifically since 1964…and had many tubs of precious manuscripts in workbooks stored here on Still Mountain…on Monday, we dug into the storeroom only to discover that an undetected roof leak had allowed rain in, which managed to penetrate three tubs of manuscripts, some in several inches of standing water…we have been in emergency rescue mode, attempting to rescue what we can from ruin…we will be able to save most of them…its like saving my word children from drowning…

Thanks for making your schedule clear for me!

Onwards and upwards!

I don't know how firefighters do it. Even the pilots who drop retardant run a big risk. I am just thankful those little boys and girls who want to grow up to be firefighters actually become one. I am beyond relieved your home and those of your neighbors were spared.

Thank you for the encouragement which means more to me than you can imagine! This experience with the drenched journals has opened my eyes and heart to seeing what my soul has been whispering for all of my life...That I was sent here on a mission to serve the world through clear, brilliant, luminous writings which were and are given me by the divine to help those who need to see pure Love and higher wisdom in full manifestation...and that a huge treasury of this work already exists with much more waiting to be written AND its time to break through all the obstacles and get it out there so that it can fulfill its purpose...onwards and upwards!
