I chose my word not long after getting out of the hospital--again--this time for a broken hip and subsequent total hip replacement. I’ve had so much down time since October that I painted my word on a rock. My word for the year is “Patience”.
That sounds like a perfect word for your current season, Gail. I’m having a rough season (house and business repair problems--not nearly as taxing as your hip replacement!), and I want to throw in the towel on so many things. I’m going to write “patience” on my daily journal pages every day until I calm down. Thanks for sharing!
I went shopping again with Neil this morning. I swear, when I was 15 and living in Fl, we had driver’s ed in school. I was the only girl who dared drive a standard and a van at that on the schools drivers ed course. My step-dad taught me to drive his 1965 mustang when I was 12 because I was tall and could reach the pedals.
But in drivers ed, a subject I was really interested in, it seems I can remember most all the classes, backing up, parallel parking, and how long it takes to stop a vehicle going a certain speed.
When he is in the driver’s seat, I often tell him that if he goes any slower, he’ll be backing up. He stops at green lights, runs the yellow ones, and will come up fast on a person in front that is stopped at a red light.
Next time I go out with him, I really need to take along my “Patience” rock and shove it in my mouth and put my ‘mask’ over my eyes while he’s driving! 🙈🙊
That's funny. I remember when my son first got his license. One time we took a trip down to Southern California. He and his friend would be doing different things than Rick and I, and staying a different amount of time so he followed us down. I'll never forget watching him in the rear view mirror. Seriously, he was driving as if the lines on the highway were suggestions. I finally pulled over to tell him that he looked as if he was driving under the influence, and would get pulled over if he kept it up. I remember he wasn't very happy with me that day, nor I with him.
So many years later, he is such a safe driver. I am at complete ease in the passenger's seat with him driving. Aww, the passage of time can be so rewarding :) 💟
Though my daughter and her husband can drive a little fast on back roads they are familiar with, when she’s driving, I have complete confidence in her.

I have great faith you will prevail. 💟
I put my word on a rock and the year on the other side. I pray you heal quickly.

I love the picture. I also makes me smile!
Right?
I do this. I also often do it for a week. And I try to choose a feeling word like soft or fluid.
This photo makes me all warm & fuzzy, Sue!
LOVE this photo! As well as the cup of thoughts….
