This is beautiful. I love the mantra. Reminding us that we are precious objects and to take care of ourselves. By taking care of ourselves in mind, body, and spirit makes us strong. We ARE precious objects!!
This is beautiful. I think self care can start with little things like really listening to your body. Going to the bathroom when your body is telling you it needs a bathroom break, eating what you really want when you are hungry or putting lotion on your hand when they are dry. Baby steps help to start us on the road to self care.
I love this response, made me laugh about going to the bathroom. But it's so true. I can take better care of my car sometimes than myself. Like not taking my supplements, not flossing, etc. The Artist's Way has made me look at some of these seemingly innocent behaviors and make changes. 💜
Yep, self care is an important lesson. One that was frowned upon as selfish when I was growing up. I think I've survived so much because I didn't listen to the accusations of being selfish and I had other loved ones telling me that I was being Self Full.
You are so right about the time in which we grew up, one better not be too selfish or think too highly of themselves, heaven forbid! Cheers to Self Full!! 💜
I love all these comments and your reflections. I am in The Artist’s Way with you.
My commitment to self has been daily morning, pages and yoga. It is interesting. How society has taught us that taking time to our self is selfish; intimating that that is a bad thing.
The thing I teach all my students in clients is that no one is going to put you first, you have to do that yourself or you’ll never get what you want out of life.
I’m taking my own advice and living my best life. We really are treasures.
Lovely, Patricia! I love that you are doing the class as well! It's great to read the reflections of others, to add to our own thoughts. You are correct, we are all treasures!! 💜

As a nurse I can tell you there were days when I would put off a bathroom break for hours, lol.
I believe it!

Self care is not selfish. We often consider ourselves last. Beautiful mantras.
Yes! Agreed. 💜
