Every morning when we sit on our patio, we are greeted by a little lizard who comes to share our quiet time! Nature is the best gift of all!

Oh, yes, we have many lizards here. They love to tease the kitties sitting at the sliding glass doors with their morning pushups! 💚

I absolutely believe the dragonfly was there for a message and why not believe in miracles? Life is so much sweeter than we do.

I’m going to direct message you a page from the book called the healing questions guide by Wendi Jensen on sciatica for you to consider

Sending love and healing vibes and wishes for you to be safe and faith that you will from the fires

A year ago today, my wonderful Auntie died. The day before she did, I was in Cape Cod having just celebrated my youngest son's wedding. I got word she was not doing well and to come as soon as possible. As I wondered if I would make it on time, a dragonfly flew and rested on my hand just like yours. I knew instantly it was a sign that I would make it there in time to see her. We made it there in time and ever since then dragonflies remind me of the gift of messages from above. XO Tracy Chamberlain Higginbotham.

I have always love to see dragon flies. In Native American traditions, the dragonfly is regarded as a symbol of transformation and spiritual growth. They are miracles of nature.

I have read this as well. No matter what tradition you look up, it seems they represent very positive things. I agree, they are miracles of nature. 💚

Very nice, Sue.

Coincidentally, a dragonfly landed on me this past weekend too. But it only stayed for a few seconds. Still felt honored.

Yes! Any amount of time is a gift! 💚💚💚

Lovely, Sue. It feels like a gift to watch a dragonfly flit around, but must be like magic to have it take rest on you! Thank you for the recommendation, I’ve returned the praise.

Sorry to hear about your sciatica. Hope you're finding some relief.

I found a damselfly flying around inside the house a couple of days ago - we were mid-heatwave and every window and door was open. I wiped my wet hands on a towel (I'd been in the kitchen making food) and managed - I know not how - to catch the damselfly as it flew past me. I thought when I'd got it outside and opened my hands it would take flight immediately, but it stuck around for ages taking up moisture from my damp hands with its mouth parts. It was amazing!

That is so cool! Today I had another such encounter, only this time with a hummingbird. I was outside watering the plants with a hose, and a hummingbird flew up to about a foot from the stream of water, and landed on the top of a wire fence where he stayed bathing in the tiny water droplets that were rising up. He stayed for at least three minutes, preening and fluffing his feathers. I've never seen anything like that. His beautiful blue feathers that weren't visible at first, were shining brightly as he enjoyed his little bath. And then when he finally decided to fly away, he flew toward me first almost as if to thank me for the water. Blessings!!!

Oh Sue, this is sooooo beautiful! Blessings indeed. ❤️

I’ve only ever seen hummingbirds on TV, never in real life. It must be amazing to see them in the wild!

to borrow from Albert, and the Buddhists, and the gospel of Thomas, one way of reflected enlightenment, and joy of miracles is to consider each of us as a construction of body, mind, spirit, we are each in any given life, all 3 and consequently are, all other sentient creatures, whether a cat, a weeping willow or a dragonfly each can take a deep breath and savor the view, the sounds, the experience, and witness the joy. we behold.

Lovely, thank you Kurt, love these thoughts. Thinking a lot lately about the spirit. 💚

Sue, your encounter is indeed magical. My niece and I have a "thing" about hummingbirds. Whenever one visits us we text one another - we like to think that it's Nana, my mother, coming to visit. Special moments like you experienced are extraordinary really. And in many ways remind us that we are the visitors here on this land. Thank you for this sweet morning cup of joy.

as I write in my book "The dragonfly, in almost every part of the world symbolizes change and change in the perspective of self realization; and the kind of change that has its source in mental and emotional maturity and the understanding of the deeper meaning of life. The dragonfly normally lives most of its life as a nymph. It flies only for a fraction of its life and usually not more than a few months. This adult dragonfly does it all in these few months and leaves nothing to be desired. This style of life symbolizes and exemplifies the virtue of living in the moment and living life to the fullest. By living in the moment you are aware of who you are, where you are, what you are doing, what you want, what you don’t and make informed choices on a moment-to-moment basis."

"Many First Nations associate the dragonfly with healing and shamanism and consider the dragonfly the regenerative and protective force of Spirit. Symbols and messages can come to us in many ways. Because our loved ones who have crossed over can often send bugs, birds, small animals and the like as messengers to let the living know that they are okay on the other side, the dragonfly can often show up as a spiritual messenger. Spirit often uses vehicles that are small, unique, and bright in color, and the dragonfly is thought to be a traveler of dimensions and realities, making him [her] the perfect candidate"

Lovely! I believe that the good things in life are miracles. The bad things, what are they? I wonder!

Expand full comment

I believe the "bad things" act as our life lessons, are a form of balance, and in time leave something of merit and goodness. We humans, unfortunately, without balance can move in a direction away from gratitude. I do not believe that the "bad things" are in any way a punishment, although they are unpleasant. 💚

I believe the difficult times are lessons also.

There is no good, bad, right, or wrong; there are only experiences, all perfect in their timing and teaching.
