I have three lemon trees I started from seeds from an organic lemon about 3 years ago. (I originally started with 5, but two didn’t do so well.). They are not quite as full as yours—yet. Each summer I put them outside along with the rest of my houseplants. This summer has been terrible for plants because of certain bugs. I saw a flying butterfly laying her eggs on the leaves and then noticed some lacing happening to certain leaves. OH NO! I plucked off all eggs I could find, and discarded the leaves with the tiny caterpillars on them and brought them inside and continued to check them for a week after. They are still inside but back at their winter sunny windows. No lemons yet. But I have faith they will some day. What kind of fertilizer do you use?

Amazing that the lemon tree survived…just like we do in our changing environments.

Exactly! Sometimes we need to uproot ourselves to find our true north.

I saw a friend over the weekend asking my advice on her newly acquired lemon tree that is not producing fruit, even though it had been when she received it. I will forward your advice, Sue!

Our thinking is that the plant was getting too much water as it was on a hill previously. Also a continued course of fertilizing seemed to really help.

I love that the tree found its happy place— with your help of course. Plants and trees and so much personality.
